Whitewater Ridge at Waddle Mountain is a 285 acre, gated, mountain ridge-top community. We are located in Transylvania County, North Carolina off NC Highway 281 between Whitewater Falls and US Hwy 64, approximately 15 miles north of the Hwy 11/Hwy 130 intersection in SC (approximately 5 miles south of the Hwy 64/Hwy 281 intersection in NC).
The Nantahala National Forest surrounds Whitewater Ridge on three sides. A hiking trail from the property accesses the beautiful Whitewater River where waterfalls and brown trout await the avid fly-fisherman and hiker.
At elevations between 3,400 and 3,800 feet, the view off the west/northwest side of the ridge is a panorama of all the mountains surrounding Cashiers. Every lot this side of the ridge is positioned to have Whiteside Mountain, reputed to be the oldest mountain in the world, as the centerpiece of your view.
Equally breathtaking views await you off the south/southeast side of Whitewater Ridge. Here you will look over the foothills to Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee in South Carolina. On a clear day you'll see the stadium at Clemson. The lights of Greenville and other cities across the Piedmont will glow in your nighttime sky.
There are multiple opportunities - within 30 minute drive from property - for golf, hiking, fly fishing, nature study, bird watching, and much more. The porperty offers direct access to the Whitewater River!
